About a ¼ cup of Bentonite (depends on hair length)
6 Tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)
3 Tablespoons of Aloe Vera juice
Equipment
Wooden Spoon (metal will react)
Glass bowl
Why I chose the above ingredients
Bentonite Clay:
Cleanses and detoxifies hair by drawing out heavy metals, chemicals and impurities
Detangles hair
Antibacterial and antifungal
Apple Cider Vinegar
Antimicrobial therefore helps treat itchiness and dandruff associated with certain scalp conditions
Balances pH of hair which increases moisture retention
Helps correct hair porosity
Aloe Vera Juice
Antioxidants, antibacterial and antifungal properties
Promotes Hair growth Reduces hair shedding
Helps heal dry, itchy and irritated scalps
Making the mixture
1. Pour the clay into a glass bowl
2. Add the the Apple Cider Vinegar (there should be a little fizz/ obvious reaction) and stir
3. Add the Aloe Vera Juice and stir vigorously till mixture is smooth and lump free (consistency of yoghurt)
How to use
1. Section your hair
2. Dampen each section using the garden spray
3. Apply the Bentonite Hair Mask like you would a relaxer, but unlike a relaxer, you will go from the roots all the way to your tips
4. Sit with mask for about 30mins
5. Rinse using water and then shampoo (hair should feel incredibly clean, like rubbing a wet finger on glass)
6 . Add conditioner, remember your hair is technically bare so make sure you generous.
7. Let it sit for a 5 minutes and then rinse
8. Base your scalp, moisturize the you hair and style how you wish
I based my scalp with sweet almond oil and used my Shea butter mix moisturize the rest of my hair. I braided while damp, undid the braids when hair had dried and then finger combed my hair. Added a little bow for some extra SLAY
